ByeBell collects as little as it can. We don't show ads, we don't sell or rent your data, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

What we store

What we don't store

What others can see

Other people see your reports with personal details hidden, the general area (zip code) they came from, and counts like "Reported by 3 neighbors." We never show who posted a report, rated it, or said "I got this too."

Public data we show

"Trending near you" uses public Do Not Call complaint data from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, counted by area code and topic. We don't store the phone numbers or towns in that data. We also show public scam warnings from the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center. None of this involves your personal information.

How we measure the pilot

To learn whether ByeBell is useful, we count things in total, such as feed views, checks, shares, and visits from alert emails. These counts aren't linked to you. If you're signed in, we also note which days you used the app (not what you looked at), so we can count how many people come back. That record is deleted with your account. We don't use analytics companies, tracking cookies, or email open tracking.

Services we use

They process data only to run these services for us.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies only to keep you signed in and, once a day, to note that you used the app (so we don't record it more than once). If you're not signed in, your browser remembers when you last viewed the feed so we can label new reports. That stays on your device.
